Eunice Hyunhye Cho, Esq., Chair
Eunice is a Staff Attorney with the Immigrant Justice Project of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the daughter of immigrants from Korea, is a long-time advocate and organizer for immigrant communities, and is a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School.
Stephen Pitti, Ph.D., Member
Stephen Pitti is a Professor of American Studies and History at Yale University where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Latinas/os in the United States. Born in Texas and raised in Northern California, he has provided Congressional testimony in favor of immigration reform, and he serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the National Parks.
Mileidi Salinas, Student Member
Mileidi serves as the chair of the elected Freedom University Student Committee. As a Freedom U student, Mileidi has represented Freedom University at the College of William and Mary as well as the 2017 Northeast College Tour. Mileidi helped lead the Valentine's Day direct action at the Georgia Board of Regents in February 2017, and hopes to one day study English and Creative Writing at a liberal arts college.
Charles A. Black, Member
Charles served as Chairman of the Atlanta Student Movement, an affiliate of SNCC, from 1961-1962. An alumnus of Morehouse College, Charles is a professional actor on stage, screen and television. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Atlanta NAACP and Hammonds House Museum, and is a volunteer with a number of community service groups.
Melissa Padilla-Vang, Member
Melissa is a 2012 graduate of Freedom University and a current undergraduate student at Dartmouth College.
