Eunice Hyunhye Cho, Esq., Chair
Eunice is a Staff Attorney with the Immigrant Justice Project of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the daughter of immigrants from Korea, is a long-time advocate and organizer for immigrant communities, and is a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School.
Stephen Pitti, Ph.D., Member
Stephen Pitti is a Professor of American Studies and History at Yale University where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Latinas/os in the United States. Born in Texas and raised in Northern California, he has provided Congressional testimony in favor of immigration reform, and he serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the National Parks.
Melissa Rivas-Triana, Member
Melissa serves as the chair of the elected Freedom University Student Committee. As a Freedom U student, Melissa attended the Freedom Summer 50th Anniversary Conference in Jackson, Mississippi and presented at multiple colleges on the 2014 and 2015 Northeast College Tours. Melissa participated in the integrated class teach-in at the University of Georgia on January 9, 2015 and was one of nine students arrested in an act of civil disobedience. Melissa is also a trained researcher with the National UnDACAmented Research Project run by Harvard University. Melissa hopes to study sociology and art at Dartmouth College.
Charles A. Black, Member
Charles served as Chairman of the Atlanta Student Movement, an affiliate of SNCC, from 1961-1962. An alumnus of Morehouse College, Charles is a professional actor on stage, screen and television. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Atlanta NAACP and Hammonds House Museum, and is a volunteer with a number of community service groups.
Melissa Padilla-Vang, Member
Melissa is a 2012 graduate of Freedom University and a current undergraduate student at Dartmouth College.
